Well it is still better than shoveling snow! We have had several cold fronts passing through the Florida Keys the past week. The cold has really affected some of the species we fish for in the Keys. A few weeks back the cold killed off many of the Snook caught in the shallow water of the Florida Bay. The best bet right now is head toward the Gulf and East Cape on the edges of deeper water. The Trout and Mackerel have been cooperating nicely. It can be a tricky run from Key Largo and Islamorada through the bay if you are not familiar with it so if you are running your own boat take it slow and run the deeper cuts.

Well it is time to bundle up and head to the Gulf!
