Hot Hot Hot Permit Fishing on the Ocean side of Key Largo

Well summer is here! The temps have been in the high 80's, but the winds have been mild. When you are out on the water remember to stay hydrated!! Over the last few trips I teamed up with Capt. Jason Swensson of Lone Ranger Charters with two boat charters. I fish with Jason on all the tournaments. Jason and I work together often so if you need more than one boat give a call. we do discount your charters if you have 2 boats.

With winds being calm you can fish where you want. As always I respect what the charters want to fish for. It summary there is Tarpon on the ocean side and in the backcountry. The snook bite is still hot at the Cape. There are plenty of mullet muds in the bays and you will be surprised what you can catch in them. Permit have also been active off the flats and bottom structure.

Yesterday was one of those rare days where Jason and I could get out and do some fun fishing. That doesn't happen often with our busy schedules, but when it does it is always interesting! We left at 10am and were back at dock at 3:30. The total was 6 for 7 on Permit, 2 Dolphin and a few Jacks.

Remember, If you live in the Miami area you are only 1.5 hours away.
